  • What do you mean by best practice foraging?
It's an ever-evolving practice for us, but here are a few things we do: - We carry hygiene kits which we use to clean and sterilise our boots and equipment before entering and upon leaving the forest. This is to ensure we limited the spread of pathogens such as Phytophthera cinnamomi. - We never harvest the first mushrooms that we see and always leave plenty in the forest to maintain balance in the forest ecosystem. The mushrooms that we do harvest are limited to only those that can be harvested sustainably. - We use sterilised blades to harvest forest fungi and carry our harvested mushrooms in porous baskets spreading their spores through the forest as we go. It is central to our ethos to ensure forest fungi thrives for the forests, foragers and future generations. - We are mindful to deliberately limit the scale of our business, keeping it small so that we maintain a sustainable foraging practice and do not exert excess pressure on the forests.

Adaptogens are plants and mushrooms that help your body respond to stress, anxiety, fatigue, and overall wellbeing. Taking an adaptogenic mushroom and transforming it into an elixir is a simple way to help bring your physical and mental health into balance. It might help to think of adaptogenic mushrooms in one of two ways: either they adapt to what your body needs, or they help your body adapt to life. Whichever way you think about it, adaptogens help you move towards homeostasis and improve your wellbeing.
